Seems like Miley Cyrus just can’t keep herself out of sticky situations, but this is what happens when you’re a pretty young thing in Hollywood. At a recent photo shoot for Vanity Fair, Miley was asked to pose topless by world renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. She was draped in a blanket and wearing a nude colored tank which she was later asked to remove. And she didn’t really want to offend world famous Annie, so she did. And being the naïve young 15 year old thing that she is, the topless photos made the magazine, and Miley is mortified.
“I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed,” Miley said in a statement released by her reps on Sunday.

“I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.”

Miley didn’t think anything of it at the time, her parents and grandmother even attended the day long shoot with her. But now she’s apologizing. And Disney’s reaction? While they are cringing, they have their own thoughts…

“Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.”

Kind of strange though, parents there or not. If you are at a photo shoot, and if you are at a photo shoot, and doing the make believe topless thing should it really be all that surprising that the pictures end up in the magazine? You don’t have to be wiser than 15 to figure that one out. But it’s Miley, she’s not losing any fans any time soon.

Amy Winehouse spent the night with London’s finest last night after being interviewed over the little broo ha ha she created in Camden last week. She was questioned about her alleged attack against two men, and even when she arrived at the station her doctor deemed her ‘unfit to be interviewed’. Shocking, isn’t it? She admitted to the assaults and was fully cooperative, and even apologized. No clue what good apologizing to the POLICE will do, since it’s not them that she clobbered. But it seemed to work because she was let go ‘with a caution’ and as it stands, that’s the end of this story. She won’t be formally arrested, or even have to face penal action because of it. But I guess such is life when you are Amy Winehouse, and I think we all know at this point, this one is just never gonna learn. How much time do we give it before we hear about her next scuffle or drug induced drama?

The singer, 15, tells PEOPLE: “My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed.”

A source close to the singer tells PEOPLE that Cyrus is clothed but shown by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz in such a way that that the teen appears to be topless.

In the photos that circulated on the Internet, Cyrus, her midriff exposed, is shown draped over the lap of her then-boyfriend, her producer’s son. In another image, a hint of a green bra is evident. (Those photos alone prompted criticism from conservative TV commentator Bill O’Reilly, as well as words of support from the Jonas Brothers and a fellow Disney star.)

Cyrus goes on to say: “The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone.

“Most of all,” she says, “I have let myself down. I will learn from my mistakes and trust my support team. My family and my faith will guide me through my life’s journey.”

Disney Channel Statement

In its own statement about the Vanity Fair story, the Disney Channel, which broadcasts Cyrus’s series Hannah Montana, said: “Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.”

Describing the photo session to PEOPLE, a source close to Cyrus reiterated the teen’s excitement at working with Leibovitz, and also said of the shoot: “Her parents were there all day. [Father] Billy Ray shot, too.”

Though Cyrus’s parents left before the final shot, with Miley supposed to be appearing topless, the source said: “Miley’s grandmother and her teacher were there when she shot it. Annie convinced them it was going to be artistic. Her parents are mortified. They know this is a learning moment for Miley.

“The photo suggests that she is [naked], but she is not. She is covered by a sheet, and beneath the sheet she is clothed. Originally, she was in a flesh-colored tank top but was asked to remove it.”

PEOPLE’s requests to Vanity Fair for comment were not answered on Sunday. In a statement to The New York Times, Beth Kseniak, a spokeswoman for both Vanity Fair and Leibovitz, said: “Miley’s parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.”

But far be it from the movie’s title to persuade you otherwise, but Jenna Jameson is actually trying to tell people this is a political movie. Uh huh. She says the undertones to Zombie Strippers is speaking against the Bush administration and that’s really why she wanted to do the movie. But let’s review the plot line. It’s about a stripper, yes, Jenna, who is turned into a super-zombie after the strip joint she’s working in gets hit with a virus. Shockingly, the film has already received a myriad of bad reviews due to its low budget look, and yes, ridiculous dialogue. But you know, it’s political folks. Go out and educate yourself with ‘Zombie Strippers’.

Kim’s latest gig is a lingerie ad for Ralph and well, it may actually work in her favor. She almost looks good. *gag* Yes, but I think it’s safe to say that this cover of Ralph will be first up for the Photoshop awards, no? Come on, the girl is famous for her curves, so where ARE they?? Victoria Beckham may be wearing all the latest high-end names, but when it comes to her own fashion line, the girl is a little slack. As a result, Fred Segal and the folks at Kitson have dumped her denim. The two reasons behind the heave-ho on Posh’s dVb line are poor sales figures and a lack of promo work on her end. She’s been asked quite a few times to appear for PR events in an effort to amp up sales, but she has not shown up. I guess a big name is sitting on the behind of a pair of jeans just isn’t enough, the folks at Kitson agree. A hoopla needs to be made, and it looks like Victoria just didn’t have the time for it. As a result, Kitson is turfing the lines. If you’ve had your eye on them, perhaps you should scout eBay, when a big name label gets dropped, you find things start to look VERY cheap.

Well it seems like folks on the way way way other side of the pond Down Under are a little more liberal with their bodies, or perhaps Sophie Monk is just trying to jump ahead of her arch-nemesis Paris Hilton in the ‘bare all’ department. And Sophie had no issues at all with the nude scenes, and my guess is, there will be a lot more class here than anything Paris ever bared. (not that that takes much, mind you). Director of “Sex and Death 101” Daniel Waters says Americans are much more hesitant to rip it all off, and that Sophie had absolutely no hang-ups whatsoever. He even thinks that Aussies, Sophie’s claim to fame, are impossible to embarrass. Well, you know, it doesn’t help that the girl has an immaculate figure, hard to be embarrassed about that.

Recently at her baby shower, she initiated an odd ritual where she gave all her friends and guests a leather bracelet. She asked them not to take the bracelet off until after she delivers her baby. She gave everyone the bracelet, and asked them to put it on, and launched into a ‘life, love, and health’ prayer with instructions that the bracelet can not come off until after the birth. Not sure what the deeper significance to that is, but you know, in Hollywood they always do things a little differently. Jessica is expecting to have her baby in June, and she and Cash are rumored to be naming their baby-girl-to be ‘Honor’.

While Britney Spears has been holed up at home under the careful watch of her conservator *cough* dad, she’s been whiling her time away making some video diaries journaling her experiences and struggles over the last six months. Now that her mend is much much better and she is in better shape, she is saying she may be releasing the videos, and plans to do so either on MTV or online. The recordings are just what you would expect, a horrifying insight into the day to day struggles of someone suffering with serious mental health problems, who also happens to be one of the most talked about pop stars. They are in essence, a true tell all and Britney’s true feelings on her dad, her mom, her preggo sister Jamie Lynn are all unleashed in her video diaries. She even manages to do some ranting about her ex Justin Timberlake as well as her long standing rivalry with Christina Aguilera. If they make the waves, there will surely be more than a few people in the hot seat, and not too happy. I believe the term ‘explosive’ was used. So some boys in Hollywood, namely Justin and her ex hubby K-Fed are shaking a little to see what comes out of this, but you know, Britney is Britney. And if she’s ready to make some major waves in the real world again, you have to know she must be feeling at least a little better.

And she promptly apologized, making sure to include we are all are that ‘Kim’s hot!’ Yep, eyes rolling….And Kim was very gracious about the slam from her former BFF.

Kim accepts the apology, telling In Touch, “Paris and I have been friends since we were kids and I’m glad she made the effort to say she’s sorry.”

Nice to see they made amends (I so DO care) but you have to know, cottage cheese in a trash bag, wow, that’s something you don’t forget easy. But doncha just hate it when the socialites squabble? It’s exhausting I tell you.

Last week Naomi Campbell had some issues keeping her temper under wrap AGAIN and was escorted off a British Airways flight and consequently arrested under suspicion of assaulting a police officer. Such a sweetheart, isn’t she? She was released on bail pending an investigation, but the word is that she won’t be allowed to rack up any more British Airway flyer miles. They don’t want her back, and can you blame them? She is hoping of course that they can end it amicably, but British Airways is not so sure about that. Though the airline isn’t commenting directly, they will say they don’t comment about specific passengers. Though it would probably serve her right to get knocked off the airline’s flyers lists, British Airways may want to consider when it comes to publicity. They’ve installed a new high-tech system for checking in and baggage claim, and the end result has been hundreds of cancelled flights and tens of thousands, yes, TENS of thousands, of bags just lost. Their new system is obviously going to cost them some business, so they may want to keep the customers that have been around for 30 years a little happier. HOWEVER. This is not the first time Naomi has gone psycho, so she should get at least a little grief from the incident.

Here is Jessica Alba yesterday running some errands and going rug shopping at The Rug Company. Yes, she’s another one you just want to hate as she is looking prettier with every passing day of her pregnancy. This may be because she is reported to be pregnant with a baby girl, so maybe the little pink bundle she is growing is giving her an even prettier feminine glow than she usually has. Jessica is 7 months pregnant and sources say that one of her pals spilled the beans last week when shopping for Jessica’s L.A. baby shower this past weekend, that was hosted by Jessica’s manager Chris Henze and his wife. Jess’s friend was doing some shopping for Jessica and her little bundle, and let the cat out of the bag that Jessica was so excited to be having a baby girl. Until then, noone knew what Jessica was having, and her baby shower showed it with a lot of high-end baby items in yellows and greens. It is rumored that Jessica intends to name her daughter ‘Honor’ and a family friend was seen picking out a charm bracelet that was going to be engraved with ‘Honor’. Hm. A pretty, yet unconventional name. Of course we won’t know for sure until it actually happens, but it will be exciting to see what pretty genes Jessica passes down.

The 37-year-old, released on bail pending an investigation into the incident, said she hoped the row with the airline could be resolved “amicably.”

BA said it had not made any announcement regarding Campbell. When asked about a report in the Mirror tabloid saying she had been banned, a spokesman said:

“We don’t comment in detail about matters relating to individual passengers.

“All incidents of abuse against passengers or staff are taken extremely seriously by BA and will not be tolerated. We deal with cases on an individual basis and will take whatever action we feel is necessary.”

Campbell’s spokeswoman in London added: “Naomi has been flying with British Airways for nearly 30 years and has been a good customer. She hopes this can be resolved amicably.”

British police are investigating the disturbance last Thursday at London Heathrow’s new Terminal 5.

Campbell was on a British Airways flight due to depart for Los Angeles when one of two bags she had checked in went missing, according to her spokeswoman.

BA has been beset by problems with the high-tech check-in and baggage handling systems at the new 4.3 billion pound ($8.6 billion) terminal. Hundreds of flights were cancelled and tens of thousands of bags have gone missing. 

It is not the first time Campbell has been in trouble with the law.

She spent five days mopping floors as part of a community service sentence in New York last year after throwing a mobile phone at her housekeeper during an argument over a pair of jeans. She was also ordered to attend anger management classes.
