Miley Cyrus in Hot Water

Seems like Miley Cyrus just can’t keep herself out of sticky situations, but this is what happens when you’re a pretty young thing in Hollywood. At a recent photo shoot for Vanity Fair, Miley was asked to pose topless by world renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. She was draped in a blanket and wearing a nude colored tank which she was later asked to remove. And she didn’t really want to offend world famous Annie, so she did. And being the naïve young 15 year old thing that she is, the topless photos made the magazine, and Miley is mortified.
“I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed,” Miley said in a statement released by her reps on Sunday.

“I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.”

Miley didn’t think anything of it at the time, her parents and grandmother even attended the day long shoot with her. But now she’s apologizing. And Disney’s reaction? While they are cringing, they have their own thoughts…

“Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.”

Kind of strange though, parents there or not. If you are at a photo shoot, and if you are at a photo shoot, and doing the make believe topless thing should it really be all that surprising that the pictures end up in the magazine? You don’t have to be wiser than 15 to figure that one out. But it’s Miley, she’s not losing any fans any time soon.

Amy Winehouse spent the night with London’s finest last night after being interviewed over the little broo ha ha she created in Camden last week. She was questioned about her alleged attack against two men, and even when she arrived at the station her doctor deemed her ‘unfit to be interviewed’. Shocking, isn’t it? She admitted to the assaults and was fully cooperative, and even apologized. No clue what good apologizing to the POLICE will do, since it’s not them that she clobbered. But it seemed to work because she was let go ‘with a caution’ and as it stands, that’s the end of this story. She won’t be formally arrested, or even have to face penal action because of it. But I guess such is life when you are Amy Winehouse, and I think we all know at this point, this one is just never gonna learn. How much time do we give it before we hear about her next scuffle or drug induced drama?

Miley Cyrus: I’m Sorry for Photos

Miley Cyrus issued a statement exclusively to PEOPLE on Sunday, apologizing for a series of playfully provocative photos that circulated on the Internet last week, as well as those from a racy, as-yet unreleased Vanity Fair photo shoot in which she appears to be nude.

The singer, 15, tells PEOPLE: “My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed.”

A source close to the singer tells PEOPLE that Cyrus is clothed but shown by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz in such a way that that the teen appears to be topless.

In the photos that circulated on the Internet, Cyrus, her midriff exposed, is shown draped over the lap of her then-boyfriend, her producer’s son. In another image, a hint of a green bra is evident. (Those photos alone prompted criticism from conservative TV commentator Bill O’Reilly, as well as words of support from the Jonas Brothers and a fellow Disney star.)

Cyrus goes on to say: “The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone.

“Most of all,” she says, “I have let myself down. I will learn from my mistakes and trust my support team. My family and my faith will guide me through my life’s journey.”

Disney Channel Statement

In its own statement about the Vanity Fair story, the Disney Channel, which broadcasts Cyrus’s series Hannah Montana, said: “Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.”

Describing the photo session to PEOPLE, a source close to Cyrus reiterated the teen’s excitement at working with Leibovitz, and also said of the shoot: “Her parents were there all day. [Father] Billy Ray shot, too.”

Though Cyrus’s parents left before the final shot, with Miley supposed to be appearing topless, the source said: “Miley’s grandmother and her teacher were there when she shot it. Annie convinced them it was going to be artistic. Her parents are mortified. They know this is a learning moment for Miley.

“The photo suggests that she is [naked], but she is not. She is covered by a sheet, and beneath the sheet she is clothed. Originally, she was in a flesh-colored tank top but was asked to remove it.”

PEOPLE’s requests to Vanity Fair for comment were not answered on Sunday. In a statement to The New York Times, Beth Kseniak, a spokeswoman for both Vanity Fair and Leibovitz, said: “Miley’s parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.”

Elisha Cuthbert Covers Maxim!

Just when you think you’ve forgotten all about her, Elisha Cuthbert makes a very hot comeback. Here she is gracing the covers of Maxim with nothing but crazy gorgeousness. Elisha Cuthbert has ‘Old School’ on her long resume, and it seems that the entire staff at Maxim insist that flick go on the ‘300 Movies You Must See Before You Die’ List. She apparently however had no clue the flick would become a classic, other than the phenomenal cast she got to work with. She told Maxim she loves doing comedies, but that she got so nervous about it she couldn’t sleep. Guess this pretty girl is just THAT pretty she doesn’t even need her beauty sleep, poor thing. She also says that Will Ferrell is an entirely different person off set, and I believe the word ‘reserved’ was used even. *gasp!* But she enjoyed working on the movie, and says it may have even been because her character got to be drunk the whole time. Jenna Jameson is hot to release her newest piece of work, ‘Zombie Strippers’. Uh huh, I know, I’m thinking the same thing in my head too. But far be it from the movie’s title to persuade you otherwise, but Jenna Jameson is actually trying to tell people this is a political movie. Uh huh. She says the undertones to Zombie Strippers is speaking against the Bush administration and that’s really why she wanted to do the movie. But let’s review the plot line. It’s about a stripper, yes, Jenna, who is turned into a super-zombie after the strip joint she’s working in gets hit with a virus. Shockingly, the film has already received a myriad of bad reviews due to its low budget look, and yes, ridiculous dialogue. But you know, it’s political folks. Go out and educate yourself with ‘Zombie Strippers’.

Kim Kardashian Covers Ralph

 

Here is Kim Kardashian gracing the covers of Ralph magazine and extending this into the pages with a full spread photo shoot. Kim’s latest gig is a lingerie ad for Ralph and well, it may actually work in her favor. She almost looks good. *gag* Yes, but I think it’s safe to say that this cover of Ralph will be first up for the Photoshop awards, no? Come on, the girl is famous for her curves, so where ARE they?? But you know how it is when you are a D-lister and your sex tape isn’t bringing you work anymore….speaking of which, Kim is getting so desperate for cash she’s even started getting paid to party. That’s right. She was paid to be the *cough* ‘celebrity’ presence at a party in Minneapolis a couple of weekends ago. The gig is more for the club than for the celebrity of course, and is used as a draw to get people into the place. So Kim graced the good folks of Minneapolis with her presence at the Aqua club, and enjoyed all the VIP treatment, and throngs of *fans* that went along with it, all for a paycheck. Not exactly a Superbowl gig, is it. My this girl will stop at nothing.

Posh’s Denim Line – DUMPED!

Well, well, it looks like one of America’s favorite trendsetters is a little bit behind the 8 ball in the style department. Victoria Beckham may be wearing all the latest high-end names, but when it comes to her own fashion line, the girl is a little slack. As a result, Fred Segal and the folks at Kitson have dumped her denim. The two reasons behind the heave-ho on Posh’s dVb line are poor sales figures and a lack of promo work on her end. She’s been asked quite a few times to appear for PR events in an effort to amp up sales, but she has not shown up. I guess a big name is sitting on the behind of a pair of jeans just isn’t enough, the folks at Kitson agree. A hoopla needs to be made, and it looks like Victoria just didn’t have the time for it. As a result, Kitson is turfing the lines. If you’ve had your eye on them, perhaps you should scout eBay, when a big name label gets dropped, you find things start to look VERY cheap.

Sophie Monk Goes Nude!

Well it seems like folks on the way way way other side of the pond Down Under are a little more liberal with their bodies, or perhaps Sophie Monk is just trying to jump ahead of her arch-nemesis Paris Hilton in the ‘bare all’ department. It’s known that Sophie is not afraid to show how comfortable she is in her own skin, and will be starring alongside Winona Ryder and Simon Baker in the upcoming flick “Sex and Death 101”. And Sophie had no issues at all with the nude scenes, and my guess is, there will be a lot more class here than anything Paris ever bared. (not that that takes much, mind you). Director of “Sex and Death 101” Daniel Waters says Americans are much more hesitant to rip it all off, and that Sophie had absolutely no hang-ups whatsoever. He even thinks that Aussies, Sophie’s claim to fame, are impossible to embarrass. Well, you know, it doesn’t help that the girl has an immaculate figure, hard to be embarrassed about that.

Wino’s a Boozy Babysitter!

Does this come as a surprise to anyone? I mean, at first glance this pic would make anyone cringe, but when you find out it’s Amy Winehouse, it doesn’t seem so shocking does it? Amy Winehouse has been very busy holed up with producer Mark Ronson as they work on the main track for the upcoming James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace. After a long day in the studio, Amy headed out to a local pub to join some friends for a mid-afternoon drink….or seven. One of her chums brought along their bouncy baby boy, and Amy was hot to trot to pick him up for a cuddle. And yes, she was also smoking at the time. Well well, what can you expect? If she is hanging with the kinds of people that tag baby along for a ride to the bar festivities, what can you say. I mean really….
